Overview
Muslim Journey (“the App”) is developed by Dharvesh Khan. The App is free, has no ads, no subscription, and no behavioral tracking. You can use the full App as a guest.
Optional sign in with Apple or Google syncs bookmarks and Journey notes via Firebase when you choose to enable cloud sync.
Information we collect
On your device (always)
- Quran reading position and preferences
- Bookmarks and custom bookmark names
- Journey journal entries and reflection notes
- Prayer calculation settings and notification preferences
- App settings (language, font size, tajweed display, etc.)
This data stays on your device unless you sign in and enable cloud sync.
If you sign in (optional)
- Email address — from Sign in with Apple or Google, used for your account
- Name — display name from your sign-in provider, if you choose to share it
- User ID — Firebase authentication identifier to sync your bookmarks and notes
Location (optional, with your permission)
If you allow location access, the App uses your device coordinates to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. Coordinates are sent to the Aladhan Prayer Times API for calculation. We do not sell location data and do not store a history of your locations on our servers.
Purchases
Optional one-time donations are processed entirely by Apple via In-App Purchase. We do not receive your payment card details.
Information we do not collect
- No ads or ad identifiers
- No third-party analytics or behavioral tracking
- No sale of personal data to third parties
- No cross-app tracking
Third-party services
- Aladhan API — prayer time calculation (location coordinates when you use GPS)
- Al Quran Cloud API — Quran text, translations, and recitation audio streams
- Firebase (Google) — optional authentication and cloud sync when you sign in
- Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — optional account creation
- Apple StoreKit — optional donations
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We only send data necessary for the feature you use.
Data retention & deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete the App or clear app data. Cloud data linked to your account can be deleted by contacting us at khan@dharvesh.in or by deleting your account from within the App where available.
Children
The App is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
